MUSEUM OF FINE ART ST PETERSBURG WEDDING | FLORIDA
Now this wedding was a very special one. Certainly emotional too. Where do we even start?!
Rose & Brandon, the bride and groom, are fellow wedding videographers themselves so it was an honour to be asked to travel to the USA to film their wedding. Little did any of us know that there would be a few mountains to climb before the big day.
We won’t get too into it but Rose had mega problems with her dress. The closure of the store she bought it from meant she no longer had a wedding dress 30 days before the big day. The thought of their wedding day happening in “hurricane season” too was a new found issue. Amongst all of this, Rose unfortunately experienced the loss of a very close family member.
Two weeks before the wedding day, a hurricane was heading straight for Florida. Hurricane Irma is a name we will never forget. As it got closer to Florida, it grew bigger and bigger in size. All of the airports were closed, cities and towns were being evacuated. Was the wedding even going to go ahead? This was an answer nobody has until 4 days before the wedding. Luckily our flight to Orlando was one of the first to arrive in a few days. Originally we were going to book flights to Miami, but thank God we didn’t. Miami International Airport didn’t open until days after we actually arrived so had we booked those flights, we would have missed the wedding.
Unfortunately, a lot of Rose & Brandon’s guests couldn’t make the wedding because of travel disruptions. But we were so happy we made it to capture this very special day. It was definitely an emotional one, and even typing this, the feelings are overwhelming.
Everything was perfect in the end. The venue, The Museum of Fine Arts, St Petersburg was amazing, the flowers by Izas Flowers were beautiful, and Confetti Events held everything together despite the niggling issues.
Rose & Brandon deserve every happiness in their future together. To quote, they went through “hell and high waters”, and quite literally thanks to Hurricane Irma! Congratulations guys!
Grab the tissues as this is one emotional wedding film!
