CHATEAU DE LA NAPOULE WEDDING | CANNES, FRENCH RIVIERA
We’d been fantasising about Katy & John’s Chateau de la Napoule wedding celebrations on the French Riviera for quite some time, and it was a given that the stunning venue, gorgeous couple, and promising climate would make for the perfect weekend. But something we did underestimate was the weather. Thanks to the “Saharan Plume from June”, we all baked in the heat wave with temperatures reaching 40 degrees on the wedding day. We have to give it to everybody though, the heat did not slow this crowd down, and the bride & groom along with their guests completely soaked it up and made for an amazing atmosphere!
A special mention goes to the brilliant Lucy Till French Weddings for curating such a spectacular wedding weekend. This was the second time we’d worked with Lucy and her team; the first being at Chateau de Massillan just a couple of years earlier, and we knew we’d be in for a well curated and beautifully planned couple of days.
As Katy and her bridesmaids occupied the penthouse at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes to get ready, John and his groomsmen took to their family apartment over in Mandelieu-La Napoule which was conveniently close to the wedding venue.
Guests began to gather at the spectacular Chateau de la Napoule situated right on the edge of the French Riviera overlooking the Bay of Cannes, whereby the ceremony took place in the secret garden within the Chateau walls. The walls were adorned by a very sophisticated palette of florals by the impressive L’Atelier des Fleurs who also created the perfect scene for the wedding breakfast.
So John kissed his bride, dressed in Julie Vino Couture, as the sun shone down and the sea sparkled away, the new bride and groom walked hand in hand amongst their guests as they began to throw rose petals in celebration.
The Troubadours announced the new Mr & Mrs Hampton in for dinner within the beautifully decorated courtyard, and quite literally danced the night away from the minute the sun began to set. The four piece band teased the guests, pretending to be your stereotypical “cocktail hour band”, stood still in the corner playing beautiful music. As the day progressed, so did their energy. You must watch the wedding video above to truly get a feel for the amount of energy the band, and the entire wedding had! Everybody fully embraced this and it was incredible to capture on film.
As dinner was served between the music sets, guests dined on the delicious creations of Giry Traiteur. We must say, the food looked delicious so everybody was in for a treat!
Production brought together all of the elements, so special mention to the amazing Riviera Organisation.
We had an incredible time capturing Katy & John’s wedding celebrations, and just wish we could have bottled up the atmosphere. Hopefully this wedding video can come as close to that as possible!
It was great to work alongside all of the suppliers involved, and to work abroad with UK talent was particularly great. We had fun capturing the memories along with photographer Chloe from Caught the Light Photography, and musical stylings of Six 15 for the evening party and the beach party the following days; these guys are seriously talented!
Multi-day events our definitely some of our favourites to film, so if you’re planning a destination wedding, don’t hesitate to get in touch! We have a whole plethora of countries and venues we aspire to film weddings and events in, so we’d love to hear about your plans.
